Supporting Women Facing Breast Cancer Surgery
Before Jacquelyn’s own mastectomy, she was gifted items from a woman who also had a breast cancer surgery. Although the two women had not met, the connection they had due to their diagnosis instantly bonded them. Jacquelyn felt that this gesture was so moving that she developed vraniCARE to help support people facing a breast cancer surgery.
Knowing that this diagnosis can be scary and isolating, Jacquelyn wanted vraniCARE packages to remind people facing breast cancer that they are not alone and that there is so much HOPE. No one but another person who has walked this path before can understand how that feels.
There are three types of vraniCARE packages that we gift women who are facing breast cancer- the surgical tote, chemotherapy tote and recently added combination tote that will supports both. These packages include items that Jacquelyn found particularly helpful while she was recovering from her mastectomy and while she was going through chemotherapy treatment.

No woman should face this journey alone. vraniCARE is here to provide physical support and emotional connection to women going through breast cancer surgery and treatment.
Included in each vranCARE package is a handwritten note of support from a woman who has previously received a vraniCARE package. In addition, a blank notecard is included for the current recipient to send some encouraging words to the next woman on this journey.
To date, we have sent approximately 315 pages to women, mostly in Minnesota, but also throughout the country. We currently deliver about 8 totes per month with the number continuing to increase. People can request a care package for themselves or someone they know by submitting a request found below.
Recently we have expanded our mission by partnering with the Randy Shaver Cancer Foundation!
In 2025 we partnered with M Health Fairview Cancer Center Edina to support women who are receiving treatment at the Cancer Center. We were awarded a grant of $5,000 from the Randy Shaver Cancer Foundation to create 30 packages that will be given out at the Cancer Center.
In 2026 we were awarded a second grant of $11,300 from the Randy Shaver Cancer Foundation and created 30 additional packages for M Health Fairview Cancer Center Edina and 26 packages that will be help fulfill request submitted through our website!
In 2025 we also hosted a vraniCARE Bingo - Ladies Night at the Chanhassen Legion. This sold-out event raised over $10,000 for additional packages! Watch our events page for additional vraniCARE fundraising events!
We rely solely on donations to continue this important work.
